Federer vs. Nadal…Again!

Posted by Dylan on June 23, 2008

The 2008 Wimbledon tennis tournament began today in England. Defending champ Roger Federer is hoping to make more history by winning for a 6th time. He lost in the recent French Open to clay court king Rafael Nadal, but he hopes to prove he deserves his number one ranking by winning on the grass court. Nadal made history himself when he won the 2008 French Open tennis tournament in Paris earlier this year. He is the first to win 4 in a row. And he is ranking number two.

Winning the French Open will give Federer his career Grand Slam and if he is able to win, he will be able to retire with no regrets. However, Nadal not only doesn’t want that to happen, he wants to win at Wimbledon and become the number one ranked. It is difficult because both of them are so likable and have such great public images. Only one can win and only one can be number one. I guess we’ll just have to wait 2 weeks to see who comes out on top.
