Dubai Planetarium

This fabulous new aspect of the Science Center has a 44 foot theatre that seats 102 for educational and imagination expansion. It is equipped with a full Global Immersion solution and management is included. There is also a new storage facility. The planetarium will have such an impact on the offerings of the science center and will definitely attract more youth to explore careers in science and astronomy. The Children’s City Science Center was first opened in 2002 under the patronage of the husband of Princess Haya, H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was the first educational city in the UAE that was strictly devoted to children. It allows them the freedom to learn while playing and exploring. The universe has so many different aspects that are so intriguing to young people, the center really allows them to explore their potential as well as the solar system and beyond.
The Planetarium houses a six channel Fidelity Brighto system. It was used to introduce the full dome productions from the United States based company Spitz, Dark Star Adventure and Oasis in Space. In addition to the planetarium, the center has multiple exhibits that focus on various aspects of science. Some of the exhibits include anatomy and the human body, nature, the applied sciences as well as international culture. There is also a children-under-five corner that is strictly play oriented, yet contributes to the imagination and creative growth of these young children.
