Goa’s DJ Ryan
Posted by Brody on October 29, 2009Goa has a reputation for being a fantastic spot for global parties on gloriously beautiful beaches. It also has a reputation for being a spot to look at nature, in a rich zone of great biodiversity, that has to be protected because it is one of the most amazing spots on the planet. It also has a reputation for a rich local culture that has fascinating visual and performing arts in a lively urban atmosphere. All these things are true, and they still don’t represent what Goa is. This is to say that Goa is many things to many people, and has many personas that are still under evolution, and may never completely reveal themselves. It’s a fantastic place to visit, however, and it has some of the world’s best hotels. Goa is an amazing place that’s got something to offer everyone.
Sunsets, beaches, and temples are a heady combination, and that’s one of the best parts of Goa. When it delivers, it delivers great quantities and in unusual combinations. There is almost an overwhelming sense that comes when you’re visiting the temples right after a nice sunsoak on the beach, where too many worlds are coming together at once, and that’s a typical feeling, and it’s very interesting when it happens, because it suggests that the traveler is suddenly becoming a citizen of the world. At this point, it is wise to go with the flow, and find a club where they’re playing some fantastic music to let your mind sort out the contradictions, and your body to take over.
Fortunately, in Goa this is very easy to do, as there are lots of excellent dance clubs. Keep an eye out for one of the hottest djs in town, DJ Ryan, whose been playing with 8 years of experience under his belt, and lately has been spinning some of the hottest nights in town. His taste for hiphop and retro come through at the exactly right moments, moving the crowd to new rhythms. Ryan Beck as he is also known, plays a lot in town, but has also had some international work, too, and recently was in Moscow. Music crosses borders in a way that few art forms can.
